Galatasaray is the undefeated winner of World Wheelchair Basketball Championship!
In the first game of the final day Galatasaray outscored Australian representative Perth Wheelcats with a 78-48 gain. Coach Sedat Incesu gave each and every player from the roaster a chance to play. All of them received a big applause from the Japanese spectators.
Final game between Galatasaray and British Colombia was a breathtaking win for yellow-reds. Galatasaray did not play well in the first half. After a close game in the first second quarters when Patrick Anderson fell and his left hand fractured in the third period British Columbia worked hard to outscore Galatasaray by 6 points.
But towards the end of the game Galatasaray-squad infield displayed a high offensive and defensive capability and managed to score a 77-62 win against British Columbia.
Peter Tucek is the top scorer in this game with 32 pts, while Justin (14 pts), Ismail and Ferit (8 pts each) and Serdar (6 pts) contributed the win.
So British Columbia takes the second, hosting team Miyagi Max, the third place in the international wheelchair basketball championship.
Having arrived in Japan as the European Champion, Galatasaray Wheelchair Basketball Team is heading to homeland as the World Champion. The team is scheduled to arrive in Istanbul Ataturk Airport at about 6 in the evening on Tuesday.
