Hamit Altıntop Join Galatasaray
Negotiations for the transfer of Hamit Altıntop are finalized by signing a four-year contract effective immediately.
Born in 1982 in Germany, Altıntop began his football career at DJK Gelsenkirchen youth academy when he was nine and continued at TuS Rotthausen 1910 followed by SG Wattenscheid 09 where he became professional in 2000.
Three years later Altıntop was signed by Schalke 04. After four seasons during which he kept increasing his performance in January 2007 he signed with Bayern Munich coached by Ottmar Hitzfeld.
Finally, he was signed by Real Madrid last year in 2011 before joining Galatasaray in July 2012.
He has so far experienced two Bundesliga championships, one UEFA Champions League runner-up with Bayern Munich. And, he was selected for the Ferenc Puskas Award for the Goal of the Year in 2010 by FIFA thanks to his volley against Kazakhstan during the qualifying round of Euro 2012.
Altıntop has been a member of Turkey national senior squad since 2004.
