Born in Iğdır Tuzluca, Servet Çetin started playing football in Kartalspor after his family’s move to İstanbul. In the 2001-2002 season, he was in the Göztepe squad that promoted to the 1. League. The next season he transferred to Denizlispor.

Having impressed all the big clubs with his performance, Servet’s next destination was Fenerbahçe. After those three years during which he rose to the A National Team, in the 2006-2007 season he went to Sivasspor. With his consistent performance and trust inspiring, passionate game he continued to be a national team player. As a result of this, he could return to İstanbul and signed with Galatasaray.

He took over the position of Stjepan Tomas who left the team for Russia and started to play at the center of Galatasaray defense together with Rigobert Song. Because of his love of traditional Turkish folk music, he is called “Türkü Baba (Father)” by his friends. Servet turned out to be the fans’ one of the most loved players of the season with his solid will to win and passionate struggle. Thanks to his height, he also takes part in the dead ball organizations, especially in corner kicks he goes to the opponent’s goalpost to score a goal. Servet has played for the A National Team 25 times and was called to the national teams 56 times. His jersey number 76, represents his hometown Iğdır.
