ARDA TURAN

He started playing football in Altıntepsispor’s academia at 12. Then he came to Galatasaray. He distinguished himself with his technique and in 2004-2005 season during Gheorghe Hagi’s period he was accepted to the first team squad for the first time.

After this period during which he couldn’t have much chance to play, he was loaned to Vestel Manisaspor for him to get more experienced. In Manisa having performed quite well in half season, Arda returned to Galatasaray for 2006-2007 season. He managed to enter Erik Gerets’s first 11 and made his name known in Europe with his Champions League performance.

In the new season he found place in Karl-Heinz Feldkamp’s squad too and played in both wings together with the playmaker position.
Called to the national teams more than hundred times, Arda had his first experience in the A National Team in the friendly match played against Luxembourg in 2006. Since then he has been included to the A National Team squad 20 times by Fatih Terim. Arda was one of the unforgettable stars in Euro 2008.
He has an agreement with Galatasaray till 2012.
