After signing the deal that officially makes him a Galatasaray player, Radamel Falcao visited our chairman Mustafa Cengiz.

During the visit our vice chairman Abdurrahim Albayrak, deputy chairman Yusuf Günay and Football Team captain Fernando Muslera was also present.

Here are the comments of our new signing, our executives and captain as made to Galatasaray TV.

Chairman Mustafa Cengiz:

"First, I say Godspeed! I am really happy to see such a world star and such a precious person as Falcao to wear our jersey. According to information given to me, he was greeted bu 20-30 thousand Galatasaray fans. You cannot make these people come together for any political or financial reason. They waited for almost seven hours. This passion, this love makes Galatasaray a great club. This love, in my opinion, is showed to all Turkish clubs but a little more to ours. I say this to praise our fans not to underestimate our opponents. I want to thank our fans dearly.

Falcao's transfer process took three months to end. If our fans' emotional support was not there for us, we would not be so insistent. Dear Abdurrahim experienced bitter days, took harsh criticism. We were not offended by them, we were always affected by positive reactions from our fans. We always thought to serve this fan base as an honor, because we are also fans. We did our part, Falcao did his part. In my one and a half years as a sports club executive, I saw a lot of things. Happy days, a lot of them, thanks to god. But also many betrayals and sadness too. In my negotiations with Falcao, I saw that: He did not take a one step back or deviate from his course since day one. I respect every person I meet but attitude, personality, character, honesty and earnesty... These are must for every one of u. I saw these in Falcao truly. We saw that today and also in the airport when he landed. I said him too: We were shocked to see his ease with üçlü. Even we are not good with it as experienced football fans. Even his wife did it, I was truly shocked. This shows he studied Galatasaray. Our üçlü chant is a symbol of Galatasaray, it is a creation of our fans. This shows he is already blended in our country, in Galatasaray."

I know his main goal as a person is not financially-oriented, rather it's mentally or emotionally-oriented. Turkey is a country who lives with football, night and day. Falcao preferred to play in such a country, showing his willingness by making financial sacrifices. This is something to learn from, something to praise. 

This is a beautiful choice for Turkey and our country's football brand. This is a contribution to our football's value, to our official broadcaster's value. I welcome him again from the bottom of my heart. Hopefully he is going represent South America, Colombia and Galatasaray proudly."

Vice chairman Abdurrahim Albayrak:

"Before I begin my words, I want to say that: Me and my family had really tough days during negotiations. I want to thank our board, our chairman and my brother Yusuf Günay for their support. Even my family was disturbed during the process, I even thought leaving Turkey. I was harshly criticized. I served this club long and many years, as long as I live I will keep serving. I want to thank our chairman again, if he did not back me to the end and authorize me to finish this transfer, Falcao may not have been here. 

"Falcao is a true and decent person. First day we met, we hugged. I know how much he worked for coming to Galatasaray. I told Muslera and Mert to call and talk to him insistently. I told him, as long as he stood firm we were with him to the end. He stood firm. I want to say again: "I love you Falcao" and I thank him dearly."

Deputy chairman Yusuf Günay:

"We are living a historic day. There are some critical junctures in people's lives, this is one of them for us. When Falcao negotiations first began, our chairman authorized Albayrak fully to finish the deal. Now we are at the end. We are so happy because we worked for this transfer a lot. Now we have a world star in our squad."

Our new signing Radamel Falcao:

"I left the airport with unique and intense emotions. I did want to leave, I wanted to be with our fans for a long time. That's why I brought my family with me, I wanted them to see how big Galatasaray is as a club. I guessed there would be such a huge welcome, so I did not want to be alone when it happened. I saw this one more time: I made the right choice. I am really happy. In this process, our chairman and Mr. Albayrak worked a lot to bring me. I saw one more time, all these effort and my firm stance was not in vain. I experienced an incredibly important for me. It was perhaps one of the biggest moments in my life."

Captain Fernando Muslera:

"First I welcome Falcao. Galatasaray now has a very, very significant striker. When you look at the history of our club, there are always great players like him and now he is on the list too. I tried to support this transfer as much as I can. Our coach really wanted him too. I talked to Falcao almost every day. Mr. Terim was asking me about the process and I was updating him. Our board deserves the biggest share of praise for this deal.

But Mr. Albayrak deserves to be praised individually. And Falcao... He stood firm, he never changed course about his wish to come here. He wanted to play for a big club like Galatasaray.

He caused me a lot of trouble in national football, now we are teammates. We will share the same locker room. I am happy to share the locker room with such a great player."
