Post-match comments of our coach Fatih Terim

Post-match comments of our coach Fatih Terim

After our football team's 1-1 draw with Konyaspor, our coach Fatih Terim gave his remarks about the game.

Here are Terim's words:

"We displayed a dominant game in the first half. We played really great until our goal, maybe until Seri being sent-off. We played really well. We had the total control of the game in the first half. After controlling the game this long, we were a bit tired physically and mentally. That's why playing the final 15 minutes 10-man was a big handicap for us."

"Title-holder of the last two seasons shouldn't have started the league in this fashion but this is football. Both Marcao's and Seri's red cards did not bode well with their professional attitudes. The red card in the opening week and now this week were right calls by the referees. They both displayed a good and rightful control of the games. We are going to look at ourserlves to fix things. Our game in the second half until Seri was sent-off is our reference, we are going to keep on playing at that style and improve its quality. Unfortunately, we cannot a play in a way that is fit with our champion status. Hopefully, we are going to be better with our game and our results."

"Falcao is being asked constantly but I want to talk about some other things as well. Our chairman, board and professionals are doing everything in their power, I see that. But sometimes things do not work out. There are reasons for that. First of all Financial Fair-Play by UEFA. Your obligations to UEFA can prevent you doing things as imagined. What is the economical status of our club? Can we keep the balances? What is it going to be for Galatasaray's financial future? None of the Turkish clubs are economically good, everybody has to spend their money in a careful way. Economically, we cannot go on spending carelessly. There is already a big difference between high-level European teams and us. Galatasaray's future and economy is very delicate. When I say that people think I do not want Falcao in my team. Technically, there is no coach in the world that can say "No" to Falcao. Of course, I want him on my team. Then I see a rush to bring the player because of my demands. We are trying everything to bring such a precious striker. If it works out it's good. If not, we can do nothing.

"When they tell me about Falcao, I think if we need another central defender or if we need another midfielder. Not that I do not want the player but I want Galatasaray's realities to be known and I do not plan to give up on them."

"Despite everything about the transfer, we should have got 3 points today. We can make up  the losses in Turkey but there is a real difference between us and Europe."
